You Won’t Get What You Want Unless You Expect It – How Faith Affects Your Income
Isn’t it amazing how we think we know something and then find out we are missing a big piece of it.
I recently realized that I didn’t completely believe that when I asked for something I would get it.
I have been studying “God Works Through Faith”, a book written by Robert Russell many years ago. My mentor, David Neagle, has a program in which he teaches Russell’s book and I’ve been studying that every morning.
What Is Faith? Russell states, “The St. James version of the Bible says Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Moffatt translates the words in this way: Now faith means that we are confident of what we hope for, convinced of what we do not see. What comforting words: evidence, assurance, conviction, substance!”
Russell quotes Jesus, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. . . . And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. . . . Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”
That means our prayers are answered before we say them! With faith, we know this is true and we are confident that what we’ve asked for is ours.
What challenges us though is when we look out into our environment we likely won’t see what we prayed for immediately. We have to train ourselves to expect to receive our answered prayers. Confidently releasing it to God and going on in our life certain we will receive it.
And all we need is faith as small as the mustard seed.
We must act as if we have received it by being the person who has. That means if we expect to offer a program and attract 20 clients we go about taking action to enroll the clients without hesitation or doubt that we will succeed. Book the room, order the manuals, etc. and pay close attention to any insights about actions to take, people to call and places to advertise.
We also need to stay connected with our passion for the message we are delivering. We have to believe in ourselves, that we would not want to give this message if there weren’t people who needed to hear it. And no, it’s not the whole world, so we have to be willing to keep asking people even when some people say “no” to us. Don’t stop asking until 20 people are registered for the program.
If you haven’t been getting what you asked for you may have not really believed you would get it. Like me, you may not have expected it.
What would be possible for you if you had more faith?
I’d love to read your answers.
Faith is one of the foundational principles I’ll be teaching in Your Million Dollar Mission on Monday, June 10.
I’ve expanded the content taught in previous workshops to share all the new information I have been learning. I’m very excited to share the material with you.
One of the key benefits of attending this workshop is meeting other people who also have a desire to make a difference in the world. My clients connect with other people offering services they need in their business at these events.
