You are Love
Your natural state is love.
When you were born, you came into life as a being of love. If you were loved and cherished and raised by conscious parents, your true nature was supported and you remained in touch with that loving self.
If your parents had issues and could not be ideal, they treated you in ways that made you lose touch with how truly loveable you are.
In the introduction to The Course in Miracles, it says the course aims to remove “the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, which is your natural inheritance. This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.”
I believe that peace is the core of what we really desire. Even though we want all the things, experiences, and relationships we desire, at heart what we are really wanting them to give us is deep inner peace – the peace of God.
Imagine how your life would feel if no matter what circumstance came along, your peace would not be disturbed.
Wow! I think that would truly be awesome.
When you are peaceful, you do not resist what is happening. It doesn’t mean you have to find it enjoyable or pleasant, because you will prefer some things over others. However, you will ride with peace through the experiences you don’t find pleasurable, until they reveal their gifts to you.
Thinking back over your life, do you recognize some of the gifts that came from adverse circumstances? When you lost your job, another one came along that was even better, or you began to work for yourself doing something you enjoy so much more. Or someone you love passed away and you found a connection soul to soul which gave you a deeper spiritual connection and practice you might not have had. Or because of some of the painful experiences you had, you became someone who is deeply compassionate and now you are able to help other people in pain.
All of us have had these opportunities.
Now imagine how much easier it would have been to go through the unpleasant times completely at peace because you love yourself just as you are and you know you are completely secure because of your relationship with God.
That’s why I am diligent in practicing the regular “I love you’s”.
Yes, the peace of God can be ours.
Yes, we can allow ourselves to receive our desires, one I love you at a time.
I look forward to reading more of your comments on what your I love you practice is bringing you.
