Learned on my way to weight release success!

This concludes this series of the ingredients to success I’ve learned as I have been releasing weight.

If you have ever taken on a life transforming issue you can relate to the joy I feel each day as I experience a completely different relationship with food and my body. If you have something you want to change, please keep going for it. I was 61 when I started this program, so it is never too late.

As I said in my first article, I began this process to take on my life lesson of stuffing my feelings in order to be able to live my life purpose more fully. It had been 3 years since I learned my lesson in my hand analysis reading. It took me quite a while to intercept the long-standing habit of eating over my feelings before acknowledging I was having them.

I also used other numbing behaviours too that I have stopped. This is typical of the way this lesson operates. People may overwork, watch too much TV, and drink or spend too much – anything done to excess that keeps you numb.

Today I can say that I am aware l am having the feelings first and then make a choice to let myself experience them until they release on their own. I had read that would happen, but my pattern or habit was so strong, I acted unconsciously to stuff them down before I could feel them.

Let me tell you, this takes courage. When you haven’t allowed yourself to feel strong emotions they can feel very uncomfortable. However, they do run their course unless I hold onto them by talking about them over and over either inside my head or to others.

If I feel like a victim, for example, instead of acknowledging I am angry and then looking for solutions to the situation, the emotions will stick as long as I am in victim mode. The good news is that feeling like a victim is just a decision. I can change my mind and connect to my resourceful, solutions-oriented self anytime I choose.

Here are the last three ingredients.
1. Acknowledge everything you are doing. Pay attention to even the smallest changes. My body has quite a bit of padding from the extra fat and at first I could not see anything happening by looking down or in a mirror. But what I did notice was how I could feel the muscles developing inside myself. I had an awareness of them that had not been there before. I paid attention to that rather than the outside appearance until the changes began to be noticeable externally too.
I could see all the days on my calendar that had exercise written on them. Wow! Compare that to the same period last year where no days were recorded and I had compelling evidence of my commitment.

What do you need to pay attention to that you’re not? I invite you to take a good look each day at anything you’ve done to reach the goals you have for yourself. Noticing your successes empowers you to do more. Ignoring them keeps you feeling you’re not doing enough.

2.	Try new things. My trainer provides a wide variety of exercises and that keeps me from getting bored. As I get stronger I do more sets and more challenging exercises. I remember at the beginning how weak my stomach muscles were and I am enjoying pushing myself to do more now that they are strengthening.

When she knew I was ready, my trainer added some kick-boxing to the classes. I would never have imagined I would enjoy kick-boxing, but found it lots of fun.

I would like to introduce you to my trainer, Gosia Cano, 1-Fit-Mama. Gosia is motivating, fun, dedicated to our success and most important an expert at fitness. She knows how to adapt exercise and what to add if you’re injured so you can keep strengthening the weaker area, not get re-injured and not have to quit. She teaches a variety of classes too, something for everyone. Read more about her at her website http://www.1-fit-mama.com .

What are you missing out on because you’ve decided you wouldn’t enjoy it before trying it out?

3.	Find what works for you. Experiment until you find the right combination of what you need to succeed. Over the years I have tried a whole variety of traditional and non-traditional therapies and programs to reach my goals. Some worked and others didn’t. When I was really ready and had made the commitment to my vision for my new healthy body, I found the right support.

I wouldn’t have known what would work if I hadn’t tried different things. Again I encourage you not to give up. Experiment until you find what works for you. We all need support to reach our goals and we are each unique, so finding the right combination for you is important.

The reward of all this has been a substantial growth in my business. Now I know from experience that working on the life lesson is the key to living the life purpose.

Thank you to all the people who have sent positive comments on this series. I trust there is something of value in what I have learned that you can use for reaching your goals.

I was having coffee with a friend last week going over her Hand Analysis report. She doesn’t want to continue in her present job. It’s not what she enjoys and she doesn’t find it fulfilling at all. However, she said she didn’t know what she wanted to do in its place.

She’s concerned about making a mistake if she chooses a wrong career direction. She’s not 20 anymore and wonders if she is too old to change careers. However staying stuck doing something she doesn’t love is taking a toll on her energy level, her self confidence and her whole life.

All of a sudden we were interrupted by a young woman looking for a store that was no longer in the plaza we were in. Over the course of helping her out, my friend inquired into why the woman was looking for this store. It turned out the woman represents a fashion house and was going to show the new line of fashions to the store owner. My friend’s face lit up and she asked lots of questions about this type of work. They exchanged email addresses and the woman will send my friend links to their website.

In a matter of minutes an answer to her “what would I do instead?” question was right before her eyes and she was so excited. This job is her ideal job. It involves fashion and travel. She went from not knowing what she really wants to do to meeting someone who could connect her to a career she’s love to be in.
Isn’t that magical? The universe brought her the answer she was seeking as soon as she opened the door to exploring how she could live her life purpose.

Okay, it doesn’t always happen that quickly. However when you begin the process of asking what you would love to do instead and something this “coincidental” occurs would you think the Universe was directing you? I sure would.

What’s love got to do with it? While the focus of Valentine’s Day is often on romantic relationships, love affects every area of our lives. Before the love month is over for another year, let’s talk about how much you love your life and work?

Let’s begin with how you feel each morning when you wake up. Do you look forward to your day and love what’s ahead of you? Or do you drag yourself out of bed after pushing the snooze alarm as many times as you can get away with?

Do you love your work, feel energized by the people you interact with and know you’re fulfilling your life purpose in your work? Or are you bored, exhausted, and drained because you know there’s more to life and your work is pretty unfulfilling?

I know how both of these situations feel and if you do not love your life and work, I feel your pain. If you look ahead a year or two, how do you think you will feel if you continue like this? Will your life be better or worse? Are you postponing joy until you retire? How many more years will that be and can you bear to wait that long?

I believe when we love ourselves unconditionally, we expect more for our lives that a mundane life and unfulfilling work.

If you’re not loving life and finding real meaning in your work, it’s probably because you are not living from your purpose. Do you know what yours is? A Hand Analysis reading will uncover it, but in order to live from it you have to be willing to embody it and commit to it over and over again until it becomes second nature.
A Hand Analysis reading will also help you see what aspects of your personality will help you and which ones will not be advantageous.

Do you want to know why and how you’re sabotaging yourself? A Hand Analysis will give you amazing insight into this.

Take the first step and have your hand analyzed. You too may meet a stranger with a life changing message for you.

A Hand Analysis reading is actually a blueprint for your life. Equipped with this knowledge, you are in a much better position to move forward successfully.

Here are some reasons you might choose to do a hand analysis:
1.	You are not happy with your career and wonder if you would be better suited to something else.
2.	You are feeling unfulfilled and/or have a sense of “is this all there is?”
3.	You intuitively know there is more to life and you want clarity on what that is for you.
4.	You have a persistent challenge that keeps you from the success you desire and you want help in working through that.
5.	Or you are just curious about what your hands would reveal about you.

Life purpose is not static. You will always be developing and expanding your life purpose and raising the bar therefore coaching is the ideal supportive structure for someone who wants to take their life to the next level.

It is much easier to make changes and grow with the support of another person who is skilled at helping you see what you really want and believe in your ability to make it happen.

I help you create a vision for what you desire that is so compelling and meaningful it pulls you forward and motivates you to achieve it.

I support you in setting long and short term goals and in taking action to get there. I help you distinguish and use your strengths and overcome what sabotages you.

My ability to see your highest potential and hold that space for you, especially when you have lost sight of it, is the most appreciated benefit of working with me according to my clients.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us." Marianne Williamson Return to Love How is your deepest fear keeping you from shining your brilliant light in the world? [...]

The recent celebration of Halloween had me considering what frightens me and had me go back and re-read this prose by Marianne Williamson. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.”

After a couple months with plenty of ideas to write about and a flow of words when I began writing, I had recently felt blocked and uninspired. Every time I tried to write an article, nothing would come to me. Remembering the enthusiasm I felt when I wrote the last newsletter, I knew I must have triggered an unconscious fear. September had also been my best month thus far in my business, so it was pretty clear the block was related to growing my business.

In a further part of Marianne’s message, she says “We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?” On a non-conscious level I was asking myself was I good enough to play on a larger scale? Was I capable? Was it possible to have what I really want or was I setting myself up to be disappointed? So I stopped writing and business slowed down again. I played to not lose instead of playing to win.

The insidious nature of limiting beliefs and self-doubt is that it often takes a change in our feelings and behaviours before we are consciously aware we have run into a fear. Inertia, writer’s block, going around in circles accomplishing nothing, hiding out, and feeling blah and purposeless are some clues to alert us to the fear. However by the time we experience those we are usually asking very loudly “what is wrong with me? Why can’t I …? We feel ashamed that we’re not taking action on our stated goals. Yikes! That only leads to more self-doubt.

Can you relate to my experience? I would love to hear how this scenario has played out for you.

Today I felt the support of the Universe in wrapping up my writer’s block challenge. This morning I read the fingerprints of an Innovative Messenger. People with this purpose have to discover what their message is, deliver it to an audience, and receive feedback on how clear the message is. This client’s message will be on the cutting edge as Innovators are here to see and do things in new ways. However, with any Life Purpose, there is usually a fear of doing that which you are called to do. Messengers often have to overcome their reluctance to speak up.

Our conversation about her life purpose must have cleared my own writer’s block as the inspiration for this piece came shortly afterward. Interestingly I had an energy treatment this afternoon in which my throat chakra turned out to be blocked. That chakra has to do with communication. Now I am sitting at the computer finally inspired and able to get my message written.

Now back to my original question. What are you afraid of? Could it be really living your Life Purpose? Who would you have to be to play that full out? Are you willing to step into the part of yourself who is courageous and confident? Will you play to win?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Do you want to speed up the process of living your life on purpose and playing to win? No one steps onto the Olympic podium without a coach. If you are tired of taking baby steps and want to stride into greatness, contact me to discuss how Heart Power Coaching can fast forward you into living your life purpose and shining your brilliant light in the world.

Here is the rest of the inspiring quote from Marianne.

“Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
(Marianne Williamson, Return to Love, Harper Collins, 1992.)

Warmest regards,

If you’ve struggled with the same problem most of your life, wouldn’t you be relieved to learn the reason why? Are you “hiding out” like one of my clients? Carrie was so afraid of being seen as her true self she became invisible in groups. Are you suffering from nagging guilt no matter how much you do? Sarah’s to-do list was a mile long and she always felt guilty for things that were not her responsibility. Do you allow fear of others’ disapproval to keep you from expressing your gifts? Natalie hid buckets of talent from the world because one grade five teacher told her she couldn’t sing.

These are possible life lessons and your fingerprints reveal that you are hard-wired to have challenges with one or more specific lessons.

The good news is this does not mean that you are powerless to change. When you know what your lesson is, you can create a plan to use when you’re stuck. In my coaching work, I help clients create ideal strategies for navigating through the challenges of their lessons.

Have you always secretly wanted to be on centre stage – up in front of a large crowd singing your heart out or moving people with your motivating message? Are you the one everyone goes to with their problems because you listen well and somehow know the right words to say? Perhaps you’re a leader who can see a clear vision of where a project is headed and you wonder why no one else seems to be able to have the same picture.

Those are some of the life purposes your fingerprints will reveal. Have you had a persistent longing for a certain career that you ignored because it didn’t offer a safe, secure pay check? Don’t be surprised to find it as your life purpose in one or more of your fingerprints.

Your fingerprints were formed when you were in the womb and they stay the same throughout your life. The rest of your hand changes in several ways. The shape of your hand and fingers, the length of each third of your fingers and the lines in your hands all change to reflect your predominant thoughts and emotions. You can think of the prints as your soul’s intention for this lifetime and the rest of your hand is a reflection of your personality.

Some people also have extra talent, extra gifts they can use to enhance their success. These are uncovered by gift markings on your hands. Wouldn’t you like to know what your hands tell about your talents?

Imagine how great you will feel when you are living the life purpose you’ve been searching for!

See yourself behind the wheel of your favourite car. You’re heading off to your destination of your life purpose. You have your GPS; it’s your hand analysis, to tell you which directions to take and which roads to avoid. However, someone has to voice those out to you while you’re busy driving. I act as the voice giving the directions. I use my skills as a creation specialist to help you vision your life on purpose and then support you in making that happen, while helping you keep from getting stuck in a traffic jam caused by your life lesson.

I can help you navigate the direct route, the one that’s scenic and beautiful and lets you drive with ease. With my help, your route is the expressway to your purpose and not the long one with the detours.

Linda’s to-do list was a mile long and she always felt guilty for things that were not her responsibility.

I think of the prints as your soul’s intention for this lifetime and the rest of your hand is a reflection of your personality.

All the successful people I know have had mentors along the way. Working with a mentor speeds your path to success. Contact me to get started on your road to living life on purpose.
